Sanguivoriphobia is the fear of vampires. The name literally means "fear of blood eaters" since vampires are blood-eating creatures. The fear is usually developed from their beliefs that vampires are real, especially from horror films that portray vampires. The fear has likely been going on since the beginning of mankind.

Symptoms of sanguivoriphobia are dread, terror, and panic. The symptoms tend to be more severe when living in developing countries or in remote villages. Many sufferers want the phobia to be kept secret.
