Neganumerophobia (from the Latin word negans, meaning "negative", numerus, "number", and Greek phobos, "fear") is the fear of negative numbers. It is a branch of numerophobia.
Those who suffer from this phobia may believe that negative numbers are innately evil. If they believe in the devil, they may worry that working with negative numbers is sinful and will cause Satan to punish them or send them to Hell. For this reason, neganumerophobia is associated with the fear of Satan (satanophobia) and the fear of Hell (stygiophobia).
