Macrophobia (from Greek macro meaning "long") is the fear of long waits. The phobia often comes about due to one who waits for a long time too frequently, which resulted in frustrations. Sufferers would shop online instead of going shopping or have someone else do shopping for them. Symptoms of macrophobia include sweating, urge to flee, fainting and feeling as if things are closing in on you.
This phobia may need to be desensitized and exposed to places where you need to wait. A therapist would often ask about the experience of this fear, including the triggers, used to pinpoint the circumstances of anxiety.
