Koinoniphobia (from the Greek kioni meaning frequent or shared, and phobos fear) is the fear of a room or rooms. Kiononiphobia is considered a specific phobia and is the type of claustrophobia.

Some of the causes of fear include obsession, quality, and crowdiness of the room. Examples are squeaky floors, paranormal activity, and even wondering what's inside or the other side of the wall. This fear can also be trigger from someone else he/she knows. Sufferers may want to live in a single-roomed house, while some want to be homeless.

The symptoms depend on the person and on the severity of fear. Symptoms often resulting from panic, dread or anxiety include shortness of breath, fast breathing, irregular heartbeat, shaking, sweating, extreme sweating, nausea, parched mouth, and inability to communicate.
