Genophobia (from Greek geno, "offspring"), also known as coitophobia (from coitus), is the fear of sex. Genophobia is commonly caused by being sexually assaulted or abused, like being raped. Some sufferers may develop the fear as a result of pre-existing fears, like nosophobia (fear of contracting a disease), gymnophobia (fear of nudity), and haphephobia (fear of being touched). Sufferers would avoid doing sex.

Symptoms of genophobia can include panic, terror, and dread, and lesser symptoms include heartbeat, shortness of breath, trembling, anxiety, sweating, and avoidance of others. There is no universal cure for genophobia, but it can be treated by seeing therapists would may help sufferers cope with the fear while maybe giving them prescription drugs.
