Agateophobia

Agateophobia (from Greek agate, "insanity"), also known as maniaphobia (from Greek mania, "madness") or dementophobia (from demento), is the fear of insanity or of becoming insane. Agateophobia may be caused by an unpleasant crazy event in the past. Sufferers would want to stay away from their family and business associates.

Agateophobia symptoms often include feelings of fear, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, fast breathing, perspiration, feelings of dread and nausea.

There are various treatments available for such condition including effective drugs but this type of treatment is often not recommended due to its side effects which can be severe and dangerous. Other available treatment effective in treating agateophobia include NLP, hypnotherapy, counseling and psychotherapy.
