Catapedaphobia is the fear of jumping from high and low places. It is usually associated with acrophobia (fear of heights) but catapedaphobia can present on its own.

This fear is commonly developed by young children. The common trigger is getting injured from jumping off a platform, like jumping off the diving boards. Another trigger is about anyone else, like seeing people jumping off a burning building. Another is watching extreme sports involving especially high jumps.

Catapedaphobe when faced to any kind of trigger may manifest emotional and physical symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, headaches, feeling of tension and anxiety.

Panic therapy and psychotherapy are effective methods in combating the phobia, but they can overcome the fears when in control. Getting the cause of the reasons for the fears is the best way to start.
